Transition of Winter 2024 Processing

Veteran Affairs (VA) Educational Benefits Certification has transferred from the Veterans Success Center (VSC) to the Office of the University Registrar (OUR). Lupe Duran, the new School Certifying Official (SCO) within OUR, will certify the benefits. Veteran Resource Services (programming, academic support, outreach, advising, etc.) will continue to be provided by the VSC.

Lupe Duran
Lupe Duran, School Certifying Official, Office of the University Registrar​​

Lupe Duran has been with the OUR for almost two years. During that time, she worked as a Student Services Representative and transitioned to her new role as a School Certifying Official in July, 2023. She has a B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley and a Master of Education from American Public University System. Lupe is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during 9/11 and Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is a Golden State Warriors fan and enjoys visiting the Chase Center with her husband. She is excited to work with the military community to help connect veterans and dependents to the education benefits they have earned.
