Navigating the uAchieve Degree Audit

The degree audit is organized into several sections that work together to show your academic progress, coursework in progress, and remaining unfulfilled degree requirements.

Audit Header

Major

The major displayed at the top of the audit is the student’s primary program of study. If the student is pursuing additional majors or minors, they will appear within the body of the audit.

Print View Version

The printer icon under the student’s major will open a new browser tab with a print view of the audit. This allows to have multiple student audits open in a view-only format.

Catalog Year

The catalog year displayed on the student’s audit determines the academic requirements for their degree program. It is typically based on the year they entered the program and defines the courses, policies, and graduation requirements they must complete.

In some cases, an advisor may update the catalog year to align with the selected major, academic options or college policies.

Category Chart

The Category Chart provides a visual overview of a student’s progress across different requirement areas. Select a bar in the chart to view more detailed information about the requirements and sub requirements within that category.

The category chart shows an interactive bar chart with bars for University Requirmentents, UC Davis GPA, General Education, College, Total Units, Major and Electives. Each category is color-coded to indicate the status: green for complete, blue for in progress, and red for unfulfilled. A unit and GPA

View Academic History

The Academic History tab provides a detailed view of the coursework used to evaluate the student’s degree progress. It includes all completed, in-progress and transferred courses that have been posted to the student’s record. Courses are organized by term, with details such as credit earned and grades received for each course. Courses can be filtered by Grades or Term.

Audit Requirements

The degree audit organizes a student’s coursework into requirement categories that show how classes apply towards their degree.

  • University Requirements—Includes requirements that apply to all students such as UC GPA and residency. General Education (GE) requirements are displayed in a separate section for easier tracking.
  • College Requirements—Requirements established by the student’s college. Students with majors in different colleges must complete the requirements for each college.
  • Major Requirements—Includes courses, GPA requirements and other conditions required by the student’s declared major(s). These requirements may be organized into subsections such as preparatory subject matter, depth subject matter, and restricted electives.
  • Minor—Includes courses, GPA requirements and other conditions required by the student’s declared minor(s).
  • Courses Not Applying to Major & Minor Requirements (Electives)—Courses that count towards the student’s total units but do not fulfill specific major or minor requirements.
  • Courses Not Applying to Degree Requirements—Courses that do not count towards degree completion such as excess units or courses with ineligible grades.

Understanding Requirement Details

Each requirement section includes information to help you understand the student’s progress and remaining requirements:

  • Select From—Lists approved courses that may be used to satisfy the requirement. Some requirements may require courses to be completed as a sequence, while others allow the student to choose from a set of options.
  • Needs—Shows the number of courses or units still needed to complete the requirement.
  • Not From—Identifies courses that cannot be used to satisfy the requirement.
  • Earned—Displays the number of completed units that apply toward the requirement,

Courses currently being used to satisfy a requirement appear directly beneath the requirement name in a highlighted box.  This helps distinguish applied courses from remaining requirements.

Some requirements include additional details about course usage such as terms in which the courses were offered, whether a course has been discontinued or limits on the number of units that may apply toward the requirement.
