Courses
Ultimately, it is the department's responsibility to be sure all courses are properly published. Be sure to check each course and make changes in ICMS, as needed; course changes are not made in the catalog.
To ensure courses affecting a major or minor (a new course, a course-unit change, etc.) are approved by the publication deadline, forms should be at the Academic Senate Committee on Courses of Instruction (COCI) ICMS workflow level by Dec 1, the previous year. Only courses approved by COCI and approved via ICMS by the publication deadline will properly appear in a major or minor. COCI is responsible for all policies regarding the course approval process. All questions about the course approval process and deadlines should be directed to Theresa Costa or 530-752-3917, in the Academic Senate Office.
Prerequisites
Update your prerequisites by submitting an ICMS form for approval to your college; your college must approve all changes to courses. Each department is responsible for reviewing prerequisite courses to determine if the stated prerequisite is still appropriate. Due to the restructuring of departments and programs, courses may move to new subject areas or change numbers. Questions about a revised course's content should be directed to the department offering the course.
Changes to Major & Minor Requirements
Prior to publication, all changes to requirements must be approved by the Undergraduate Council and the appropriate committees in your college. If you are making a change, please send all approval documents to Randall. If you are unsure if your change is approved, see:
- College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, Leslie Charlton
- College of Biological Sciences, Heather Danley
