While the primary purpose of General Assignment Classrooms is for scheduled classes and exams, faculty, staff, student groups and other users can submit requests to reserve general assignment classrooms when they are not in use.
Class-Related Events
Requests for additional General Assignment classroom space for instructional activities related to a scheduled class—such as review sessions, make-up classes, special lectures, film screenings, research workshops, optional quiz sections, or academic tutoring—may be submitted after the first week of instruction. Instructors, TAs, or department staff may submit these requests; student submissions are not accepted. Please note: office hours must be held in instructor offices or departmental spaces and cannot be scheduled in General Assignment classrooms.
All requests must be submitted using the Classroom Reservations Form at least three business days before the event. For weekend events, reservations must be submitted by 4 p.m. on the Thursday prior. Classrooms cannot be reserved on campus holidays, as the campus is closed.
Other Events
General Assignment classrooms space for all non-academic events, or academic events that are not part of a regularly scheduled class—such as department meetings, conferences, colloquia, seminars and trainings—must be scheduled through Conference & Events Services.
Please note that a classroom reservation for class-related or other events are bumped if the classroom is needed to schedule a class.
