Academic Advising

Undergraduate Student Advising

All students are encouraged to seek advice and assistance from college staff and peer advisers on a regular basis, especially during their first quarters at UC Davis. Students should continue to consult with staff advisers during their academic career to assure completion of their requirements and degrees in a timely manner. Each undergraduate college has advisers in their respective colleges and majors to help students choose their major or plan their class schedule.

Graduate and Professional Student Advising

The Dean of Graduate Studies appoints advisers for each of their graduate programs. These official advisers are the only signatories accepted on documents pertaining to Graduate Studies. Please consult your graduate program staff person or Graduate Studies staff for the name(s) of the graduate adviser(s) in your program.

For professional student advising procedures, please consult the Deans’ office within your school.
