UC Davis Photo ID Cards. New undergraduate students who did not attend Orientation, along with new graduate students, or re-admitted students will receive a UC Davis photo ID card. All students must present a valid driver’s license or other valid legal picture identification (i.e., current passport or passport-type photograph) in order to receive their photo ID card.New students and readmitted students should have a photo ID card prepared starting Mar 24, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., in 12 Mrak Hall. All students must have a valid driver’s license, or other form of valid photo ID, to have a UC Davis photo ID card produced.

NOTICE: Under new Federal regulation financial aid checks must be picked up within 21 days of issuance. Students unable to pick up their checks in this time frame should authorize someone else to pick up the check on their behalf using the Authorization for Release of Check to an Agent form at http://manuals.ucdavis.edu/PPM/330/

Precalculus Qualifying Examination (530) 752-2013. Test results are required of all students planning to enroll in Mathe-matics 12, 16A, 17A, or 21A, or Chemistry 2A or 2AH. Late arriving students will not be admitted. Bring your UC Davis stu-dent I.D. and a #2 pencil. See also Precalculus Qualifying Makeup Examinations on Sep 27 and Oct 1.
The Precalculus Qualifying Examination requirement is waived when one of the following conditions is met: (a) Advanced Placement Mathematics AB exam score of 4 or 5; (b) Advanced Placement Mathematics BC exam score of 3, 4, or 5; (c) SAT Math score of 700 and above.

An audition is required for enrolling in the following Music courses: 130, 131, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, or 154. Most auditions will be held during orientation or the first week of the quarter, but students must inquire in the Music de-partment for an appointment. Returning students should also inquire in the Music office to learn whether a re-audition is re-quired for their ensemble.

Analytical Writing Placement Examination (530) 752-0450. Open to first-year students who have not satisfied the Entry Level Writing Requirement and have not previously taken this exam. You must show a valid photo ID. Exam registration not required. Fee is $65.

Chemistry Examination (530) 752-2013. Test results are required for all students planning to enroll in Chemistry 2A or 2AH. Late-arriving students will not be admitted. Bring your UC Davis student I.D. and a #2 pencil. See also Chemistry Makeup Examination on Sep 26 and Sep 30.
Foreign Language Placement Examinations
A placement examination is required (see below) for students enrolling for the first time in a foreign language course at UC Davis and who have at least some experience, from school or otherwise, with that language. Refer to the General Catalog to note credit allowed for course 1 in each language. Each exam may only be taken once.
The Language Learning Center (LLC), in 53 Olson Hall, administers all placement exams. The placement exams are given week-days by appointment throughout the academic year (excluding holidays). Walk-ins are welcome Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., but are subject to availability. Exams are available for the following languages: Chinese**, French*, German*, Italian*, Japanese, Russian**, and Spanish*. To schedule an appointment, call the LLC at (530) 752-1508. For all other language placement examinations, call Second Language Acquisition Institute (SLAI) at (530) 752-2719.
* This exam is not mandatory for all students, only those who have had prior language experience.

Advising Workshops
- Educational Opportunity Program/Peer Advising Counselors (EOP/PACs) (530) 752-9711. The EOP Information Office is located in 106 South Hall and advisors are available to provide academic advising and personal and social support to EOP students from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Fall Welcome Event will be held on Tuesday during Welcome Week at 3:00 p.m. in 1100 Social Sciences. All EOP students are encouraged to attend.

English Composition Examination

Students are advised to complete this requirement in their
junior year. There are no examinations administered during the summer. Sign-up online by following the link at
http://writing.ucdavis.edu/students/compexam/ from the Monday before the exam date until Friday at noon or until filled. The Upper-Division Composition Examination form, available at the UC Davis Bookstore, is required. It is recommended that students with disabilities contact the Student Disability Center (530) 752-3184 and the Entry Level Writing Program (530) 752-0450 at least two weeks prior to the exam date to arrange accommodations.
