Photo ID FAQ

Identification

Your AggieCard:

  • Is the official UC Davis identification card.
  • Is active only when you are enrolled and paid for the quarter
  • Is part of your student record
  • Identifies you as a UC Davis student to all faculty and staff at UC Davis and at other UC campuses. Present your AggieCard when visiting campus offices and when requested by university staff

Student Account Access

You can activate a new or replacement AggieCard at the following campus locations:

UC Davis Bookstore & Cowell Health Center. Charges may be placed on your account using your AggieCard.

Segundo Dining Commons. office activates meal plans on your new AggieCard for meal plan subscribers.

Residence Halls. the main lobby desk can activate dormitory access on your new or replaced Aggie Card.

Library. Undergraduate and graduate students can activate a new AggieCard at the Shields Library circulation desk or online at http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/register. If you have a replacement AggieCard, you can only use the library circulation desk to activate the card.

Meal Plans

For meal plan subscribers, Segundo Dining Commons office activates meal plans on your new AggieCard.

Residence Halls

Residence hall area desks activate dormitory access on your new or replaced Aggie Card Library. Registration makes it possible to check out books; request books & journals the library does not own; allows you to renew your books online; allows access to the 24-hour study room in Shields Library. Undergraduate and graduate students can activate a new AggieCard at the Shields Library circulation desk or online at http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/register. If you have a replacement AggieCard, you can only use the library circulation desk to activate the card.

Get an AggieCard

New Transfer and Undergraduate students for fall: starting in May, upload your picture meeting the photo requirements to pick up your AggieCard during Summer Orientation. Be sure to upload your photo at least 10 business days prior to your orientation session!

New Graduate Students for fall: starting in July, upload your picture, meeting the photo requirements. Once you receive a confirmation e-mail (sent to your UC Davis e-mail address) indicating that your photo was approved, you can pick up your AggieCard in the AggieCard office in 161A Memorial Union.

Lost Your AggieCard

Warning. Losing your AggieCard may place your student account at risk for unauthorized charges.

If lost or stolen, replace your card immediately (see Replace an AggieCard).

Monitor your student account on SISWeb and contact the offices listed under Student Account Access immediately to prevent misuse of your student account.

Replace a Lost or Damaged AggieCard

Replacement AggieCards are available in the AggieCard office in 161A Memorial Union.

A $15.00 replacement fee will be charged to your student account for a lost or damaged card.

If your AggieCard has been activated to act as your U.S. Bank ATM and PIN-based debit card, notify U.S. Bank immediately at 800-US-BANKS (872-2657) or see the on-campus branch located on the first floor of the Memorial Union.

Found a Lost AggieCard?

If you find a AggieCard, return it to the AggieCard office in 161A Memorial Union or drop it into any U.S. Postal Service box and it will be delivered postage paid to the Office of the University Registrar.

U.S. Bank Services

Your AggieCard can be used as a bank debit card if you wish to open an account with U.S. Bank. For your convenience, U.S. Bank has a banking office on the first floor of the Memorial Union, right next to the AggieCard Office.

You are not required to sign-up for a U.S. Bank checking account with the AggieCard. This new service is optional for students.  However, U.S. Bank has provided an attractive checking program for UC Davis students to consider here.

Campus Employee AggieCards

All faculty, staff, visiting scholars and retirees may visit http://employeeid.ucdavis.edu for information about their AggieCard benefits.

Magnetic Stripe

The magnetic strip on your AggieCard card contains information about your student account, housing, and library access. Take care to not damage the stripe.

Unitrans Bus Fares

As an undergraduate student, your AggieCard entitles you to special Unitrans bus fare rates; see Unitrans for more information.

Discounts

Using Aggie Cash, your AggieCard is honored at many Davis businesses for discounted prices on services and food.

Even without Aggie Cash, show your AggieCard and ask if they give a student discount.
