Registration Holds

Removing a Registration Hold

When you select View holds in SISWeb, the comments line explains what department has placed the hold. Students should then contact that department immediately to correct the situation.

On my SISWeb account I have a hold: Engl Exam Rq'd:To 110 Sproul from date
Jun 27 to Nov 05. What does this mean and and how can I cancel the hold?

Contact the ESL department; they will answer your questions.
The Undergraduate ESL Program Offices are in 108 and 110 Sproul Hall.

Administrative Assistant: Elaine Brown, embrown@ucdavis.edu

Graduate Matters: (530) 752-0524, fax: (530) 752-3156

I have a Hepatitis B hold, will that affect my registration?

No, however you should contact the Cowell Student Health Center at:

University of California
One Shields Avenue
Davis, CA 95616-8711
(530) 752-2300

When I try to register the error message reads "Student Status Prohibits Registration"

If you receive this message, several reasons are possible. At the bottom of the registration Add/Drop page, select View holds. The page will display all holds on your student account. Below are some possible holds with the department to contact:

  • Student Accounting holds. Will stop you from being able to register. Immediately contact Student Accounting in 1100 Dutton Hall by visiting or calling (530) 752-3646 to correct the matter.
  • Engineering holds. See advising holds on the College of Engineering Web site.
