Final Examination Schedule

Scheduled final examinations are subject to change. Be sure to confirm your exam times.

Starting Fall 2007, the final examination schedule has been altered to a five-day, six-time period schedule. Be sure to carefully check your examination times.

The times shown in Final Examination Schedule, indicate regular quarterly meeting times of the lecture.

Examinations will be held in the same room used for class meetings during the quarter unless there are two courses scheduled for a final at the same time in the same room. In these cases, one of the finals will be held in a different location assigned by the Office of the University Registrar. Some courses may have more students enrolled than there are seats, in which case, additional rooms will be requested from the Office of the University Registrar. These rooms will be announced to the class, prior to the examination time, by the instructor.

Classes that do not fit into any combination of meeting times as noted are known as to-be-announced (TBA) finals. The time, date, and place of examinations of these classes will be arranged by the Office of the University Registrar. Instructors will have this information approximately two weeks prior to finals and will then notify their students.

Elementary/Intermediate Foreign Languages; WLD 057E, P, S, T (College Writing–SCC 100E, P, S, T), and Linguistics 021–026; WLD 055M (Algebra Review–SCC 170M) and Mathematics 021ABC; and WLD 041C (Preparatory Chem–SCC 110C); PHY 007ABC; and CHE 002ABC are examined in “special groups” as noted in the Final Examination Chart. Rooms for these exams will be assigned by the Office of the University Registrar and notification made to the departments.
The Office of the University Registrar will not assign a room for the final exam if a course is taught in a room other than a general assignment room. In these cases, the instructor should choose a time within “finals week” (which is agreeable to the whole class) as well as make arrangements for use of the room.

Students wishing to adjust their final exam schedule because of multiple exams on the same day may discuss their problem with the instructors of the courses. Students are responsible for ensuring they do not have conflicting exams. There is no regulation mandating a change.

There are many combinations of meeting times for lectures throughout the quarter. The Final Exam Period Groupings table indicates which exam period grouping to observe for these combinations of classes.

“The University of California at Davis seeks to accommodate any student who, in observance of a religious creed, encounters on this campus an unavoidable conflict with a test or examination schedule. It is the responsibility of the student to provide, in writing and at the beginning of the quarter, notification of a potential conflict to the individual responsible for administering the test or examination and to request accommodation.

Instructors will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis and determine whether such conflicts can be resolved without imposing on the instructor or the other students in the class an undue hardship which cannot be reasonably avoided. If so, the instructor shall determine, in consultation with the student, a time during which the student can take the test or examination without incurring a penalty or violating his/her religious creed.”
