Spring 08:
Feb 4–Apr 15
Fall 08: May 12–Oct 10
Students may add courses during Pass 1, Pass 2, Open Hours, Open Registration,
or Schedule Adjustment.
Adding Courses with a Permission to Add (PTA)
Spring 08: Apr 16–May 29
Fall 08:
Oct 13–Nov 28
To add a course after the 12th day of instruction—W08 Jan 24; S08 Apr 16, approval of the department
is required in addition to a $3.00 fee.
You have 72 hours after the department issues you a PTA number in which
to use the number. The PTA number will be revoked after the third day.
PTA numbers issued within three days of the deadline must be used by the
deadline.
1. Request approval to add a course from the instructor or department.
2. If permission is granted, the instructor or department will issue
a PTA number. Use SISWeb to add the course by using the five-digit CRN
and the four-digit PTA number. If you are successful, SISWeb will confirm
that you are enrolled. A $3.00 fee for the late add will be charged
to your account.
Dropping Courses
Spring 08: Feb 4–Apr 11 (10-day-drop);
Feb 4–Apr 25 (20-day-drop)
Fall 08: May 12–Oct 8 (10-day-drop);
May 12–Oct 22 (20-day-drop)
Students may drop courses during Pass 1, Pass 2, Open Hours, Open Registration,
or Schedule Adjustment.
Dropping Courses with a Permission to Drop (PTD)
Spring 08: Apr 14–Jun 5 (10-day-drop);
Apr 28–Jun 5 (20-day-drop)
Fall 08: Oct 9–Dec 5 (10-day-drop);
Oct 23–Dec 5 (20-day-drop)
To drop a designated 10-day-drop course after the 10th day of instruction—W08 Jan 19; S08 Apr 11, or a regular 20-day-drop course after the 20th day of instruction—W08 Feb 5; S08 Apr 25, you must go to your college office to petition for the Dean’s approval.
You have 72 hours after the college representative issues you a PTD number
in which to use the number. The PTD number will be revoked after the third
day. PTD numbers issued during the last three days of instruction must
be used by the last day of instruction.
Permission to drop courses after the deadline may be granted only in exceptional
circumstances. If you accidentally add a course after the drop deadline,
you must go to the Office of the University Registrar, within 72 hours
to correct your registration.
1. Go to your college office to request permission to drop a course from
the Dean of your college (undergraduates) or from your graduate program
adviser (graduate students).
2. If permission is granted, the college Dean’s office will issue
a PTD number. Log on to SISWeb and drop the course by using the five-digit
CRN and the four-digit PTD number. If you are successful, SISWeb will
confirm you are dropped. A $3.00 fee for the late drop will be charged
to your account.
Graduate Students
To drop a course after the deadline, approval of a graduate adviser with
signature authority and the Dean of Graduate Studies is required.
1. A graduate adviser with signature authority must sign the Permission
to Drop Petition Form available at http://www.gradstudies.ucdavis.edu/forms/.
2. Take the form to the Graduate Studies Office for the Dean’s
approval.
3. The $3.00 late fee will be assessed to your account.
