Integrated Studies is an invitational, first-year, residential honors program. Established in 1969, the program aims to help high-achieving students integrate knowledge gained from humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences study and organize their learning experiences through interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary approaches to a common theme. The theme for 1997-2000 is "The Turn of the Century: 1890s and 1990s." Enrollment is limited to 25 students per class, and program membership is limited to the top 3% of the entering class. (In 1999-2000, 69 students will be admitted to the program.)
Students enroll in three Integrated Studies courses and two seminars during the year. Students not admitted to the Program may not register for Integrated Studies courses or seminars.
